AEGIS™ Severe Duty SGR

When severe duty motors are controlled by variable frequency drives (VFD), also known as Adjustable Speed Drives (ASD) their bearings are vulnerable to pitting and fluting damage and premature bearing failure. When these motors are operated in dirty, wet and corrosive environments the bearings need additional protection from dust and liquids. AEGIS™ Severe Duty SGR which consists of our Bearing Protection Ring integrated into an IP56 bearing isolator design for protection against dust, spraying water and electrical bearing “fluting” damage.

The new AEGIS™ Severe Duty SGR uses the proven shaft grounding ring technology that is protecting bearings in hundreds of thousands of VFD controlled motors world wide. The powerful combination of the AEGIS™ Bearing Protection Ring and IP56 rated Stainless Steel Bearing Isolator dramatically extends bearing and motor life and increases system reliability by diverting harmful shaft currents to ground. Unlike conventional grounding brushes, the AEGIS™ shaft grounding technology is maintenance-free and lasts for the service life of the motor.
